Scotty’s best small bar guide

Episode: Our State on a Plate Royal Show Special
Broadcast: 27th September 2015
Presenter: Scott Bridger

The Perth bar scene is growing rapidly, with many new bars popping up all over our city. Scotty shares his top five bars to put on your list for your next night out.

  • Following the newspaper-lined staircase will lead you to Bob’s Bar – a rooftop terrace named after Australia’s third-longest serving Prime Minister, Bob Hawke. It provides a sterling view of the city’s tallest buildings, Mexican inspired menu and a range of amazing drinks.
  • The Flour Factory fuses together a New York deli with a Spanish bodega cocktail bar. This inner-city public house sets across three floors of a historic 100-year-old flourmill. Bakery, butchery and a bar – you’re just asking for a delicious night out!
  • For an alternative, underground cocktail experience, you cannot go wrong with choo choo’s. Not only are the bar staff knowledgeable on their alcohol but you also receive free popcorn in the process!
  • Nestled in the heart of the city, Angel’s Cut by the Trustee boasts well over 100 rums and cachacas. This bar offers beautiful furnishings, quirky décor, groovy beats, delicious ‘share style’ food and personalized friendly service.
  • For lovers of wine, the wine store at Lalla Rookh has anything you want. From fancy red to fancy white, to slightly rare and odd wine hard to find, this little intimate bar is a rarity in Perth.
