Family owned and run, POP Parkys Organic Patch use organic and sustainable practices as well as dealing directly with their buyers.
- Whilst a majority of Australian Pears are grown in Victoria, WA’s climate offers the perfect balance of cool mild winters and warm summers providing optimal growing conditions.
- Here at POP Parkys, Robert and his partner work tirelessly to grow quality organic pears. A large part of their success is due to their ethical practices.
- Rob found out that growing stone fruit, apples, pears and mangoes would be a good way to meet the public increasing demand for organic fruit during the Christmas period and throughout summer.
- In order to become a recognised organic farm, Rob had to go through a certification process which took three tears.
- There is also a spring fed dam on the farm which is used to irrigate the trees; it also serves Rob’s passion for marron.
- If you want to try some of Rob’s delicious organic produce, head to the Manning Markets on Saturday, so you can support your local growers and buy some amazing fruit: it doesn’t get much better than this!
