Western Australia’s South West region is home to one of the most iconic and beloved dairies in Australia.

  • The South West has the perfect conditions for dairy cows, with plenty of lush pasture and a mild climate year-round.
  • Donald Simpson is the head cheesemaker at Brownes Dairy. He started his career in Tasmania and worked there for 25 years before coming to Western Australia in 2000.
  • Brownes has been making cheese since the early 1930s. They started making cheese in Brunswick in 1956.
  • Cheese is made using a more mechanical process than has been used historically. It’s a lot quicker, but the principles are the same.

  • You can have this cheese and plenty of other fresh dairy products delivered directly to your door.
