Air Date: 26 September 2021
Cassandra Charlick starts her wine trail of WA’s beautiful southwest at a winery renowned for its luxury.
- Larry Cherubino farms all their own vineyards on carefully selected parcels of land, with an emphasis on growing every grape and then translating that to the most authentic expression in the bottle.
- Larry Cherubino has been in the wine industry for 30 years and making wine in WA for about 25 years.
- Larry says that at Cherubinos they don’t get too caught up in technique, rather focus on growing the best grapes possible. Hence, when it comes to winemaking, they do as little as possible because the grapes speak for themselves.
- The 2020 Margaret River Chardonnay, named under the Cherubino label, is known to be one of Larry Cherubino’s most unique wines.
- One of the wines in Larry’s Laissez-Faire range is the 2019 Pino Noir from Porongurup. Porongurup is approximately 45 minutes Southeast of Albany. Here the climate is very gentle and suited to create this type of wine.
- Laissez-Faire means “let it be” and this reflects Cherubino's hands-off approach.
- All the Cherubinos wines are vegetarian and vegan friendly. Hence, fining agents containing things such as fish, milk, eggs, or nuts are not used in the making of their wines.
