A great Aussie tradition is having friends and family over, cooking steak on the bbq and entertaining.
2018 Frankland River which goes hand in hand with the Seared Rib-eye here at HQ Bar and Kitchen at Quay Hotel in Perth.
The region is responsible for wines of power and depth, but they are spicy and layered as well.
They’re very different from the shiraz of the east, but they have a firm place on any dinner table, most especially this one: rib eye beef.
The tannins in the wine bind with the proteins in the meat and in doing that, the wine tastes better, the meat tastes better.
There’s also something about the juicy fruit flavors of shiraz that line up with the fleshy steak, especially when it’s done like this, on the rarer side.
